A single breath
Exhaled alone
Does not stay isolated.
Carried on the wind
Recycled by plants and animals and clouds and fog
A single breath
Can travel the world.
The last breath you ever took
Floats yet in the sky.
Maybe every breath I take holds a remnant
Of your final gasp.
I hope so.
So I am never apart from you.
So I can breathe and always remember.
So I am not alone.
Breath ferries togetherness on its wings
And in the wind that carries it.
